Advanced Placement (AP) Information

We affirm our belief that taking an Advanced Placement (AP) test is an important part of any AP course. We believe that our students are well-prepared and will do well on these high-stakes exams. Additionally, the passing of these tests is counted by most universities as credit earned, which makes taking and passing an AP test a very cost-effective way of earning college credit.

We highly recommend all AP students take the Advanced Placement tests and will be collecting fees for these exams online starting in August. The cost of the exam is $98 per exam; Free/Reduced Lunch students pay $53 per exam. All exams must be paid in full by November 1st  in order to take the exams in May. Beginning in mid-August, students are to register with Total Registration which is an online registration system. Please click here to access the registration site. As offered last year, AP Exam Fee Assistance Applications will be available in the Assistant Principal’s Office upon request.

We greatly appreciate your assistance in discussing this matter with your student so he/she will be prepared to take the AP exam. Please ask your student to notify each AP teacher as to whether he/she intends to take the AP exam. If you have additional questions regarding the AP exams, please contact Ed Schmidt at 831-637-5831 Ext.137.
